Cold Summer

Winter’s long gone, but i still feel coldI’m not supposed to miss you, but i still do. I deleted your number, but i accidentally memorized it. I forgot you, but i still remember every intricate detail of our memories.  I stopped texting you, but i really want to just ask you if you’re okay, even if i’m not okay. I’m glad you’re happier, but it sucks that it’s because i’m gone. I don’t call you anymore, but i really want to talk to you again, except we can’t talk ever again. I don’t want you in my life anymore, but i’d do anything for you to stay. I said i’ll be okay, but it never stops hurtingI’ve let go, but here i am writing about you, when you only exist in my memory. I want to be forgotten and i want to forget, but my mind screams you and my body craves for your touch and my heart yearns for your presence.Summer’s coming, but it’s cold without your warmth.

  1. Believe it or not, I feel this way. I struggle with the duality. It’s a lot like Gollum and the one ring. Love and hate at the same time. The best we can do is create a new canvas to pain on. Make our life a new and beautiful one. There are plenty of other fish in the sea, and though it may be different, different can be beautiful. The time will come when we have to stop living in the past. As I think you read my living in the past Blog. Don’t let yours define you, and when our time is so limited, don’t let yourself pass opportunities because of your own sorrow. I’ve had to force myself to do it, and sadly, I have not mastered it yet. I will continue to pray for you to fine peace, and a measure of happiness under the circumstances.

  2. Baestasia presents to us a prosaic article on the notion of melancholic love; with heavy use of irony and contrasts, she effectively presents the inner turmoil that is left unresolved. The prosaic piece opens with an allusion to winter, and though it’s gone- a figurative cold is still felt which hints at the emptiness felt. The use of contrasts and comparisons are indicative of the competing idealistic ideals which is confusing and obviously painful. On one hand, the narrator wants to forget but the other hand the narrator yearns for a certain kind of transcendental love. The use of contrasts also effectively presents the appearance of moving on, but showcases the reality of living in the past. Annnnd I got lazy shit

  4. I’d love your continued support. My blog posts are not always easy to write and sometimes I pull from deep places inside myself. Sometimes those places are hard to be, but I will hopefully God willing continue to lift others.

  5. Some things are really hard to move past. And once something has been there, and then no longer is, there is an apparent void. Its hard to get over. And when you feel like you finally are making progress, something reminds you. Finding happiness within yourself is a difficult task, especially if you have relied on others to assist. Things do get better though, and the memories fade, but are never gone.

This was a great post, and it gathers what a lot of people feel. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Thank you for reading, i really appreciate your comment hehe ! Yeah, it’s hard to get over the void that appears after a person leaves and it’s so hard to keep yourself full when you feel so empty.

      1. It is. The emptiness is temporary. If there is a silver lining to the situation, try to focus on that. I don’t know the ins and outs, so there is no suggesting what you could do. I just hope you are able to come out of this better than where you started.
